Hemostasia
Hemostasia ou hemostasia (do grego antigo: αἱμόστασις haimóstasis "styptic (droga)") é um processo que faz com que o sangramento pare, o que significa manter o sangue dentro de um vaso sanguíneo danificado (o oposto da hemostasia é hemorragia). É o primeiro estágio de cicatrização de feridas. Isso envolve a mudança de sangue de um líquido para um gel. Os vasos sanguíneos intactos são centrais para moderar a tendência do sangue ao coágulo. As células endoteliais de vasos intactos evitam a coagulação do sangue com uma molécula de tipo heparina e trombomodulina e previnem a agregação plaquetária com óxido nítrico e prostaciclina. Quando ocorre uma lesão endotelial, as células endoteliais interrompem a secreção de inibidores de coagulação e agregação e, em vez disso, segregam o fator de von Willebrand que iniciam a manutenção da hemostasia após lesão. A hemostasia tem três etapas principais: 1) vasoconstrição, 2) bloqueio temporário de uma ruptura por uma ficha plaquetária e 3) coagulação sanguínea ou formação de um coágulo de fibrina. Esses processos fecham o orifício até os estofos serem reparados.
