O QUE SIGNIFICA HISTORICIST EM INGLÊS
Historicismo
O historicismo é um modo de pensar que atribui um significado central e básico a um contexto específico, como período histórico, local geográfico e cultura local. Como tal, está em contraste com as teorias individualistas de saberes, como empirismo e racionalismo, que negligenciam o papel das tradições. O historicismo, por conseguinte, tende a ser hermenêutico, porque atribui grande importância à interpretação cautelosa, rigorosa e contextualizada da informação, ou relativista, porque rejeita noções de interpretações universais, fundamentais e imutáveis. O termo desenvolveu significados diferentes e divergentes, embora vagamente relacionados. Elementos do historicismo aparecem nos escritos do filósofo italiano G. B. Vico e do ensaísta francês Michel de Montaigne, e se tornaram plenamente desenvolvidos com a dialética de G. W. F. Hegel, influente na Europa do século XIX. Os escritos de Karl Marx, influenciados por Hegel, também contêm historicismo. O termo também está associado às ciências sociais empíricas e ao trabalho de Franz Boas.
