Implicação
A implicação é um termo técnico no subtítulo pragmático da lingüística, cunhado por H. P. Grice, que se refere ao que é sugerido em um enunciado, mesmo que nem expresso nem estritamente implícito pelo enunciado. Por exemplo, a frase "Mary teve um bebê e se casou" sugere fortemente que Mary teve o bebê antes do casamento, mas a frase ainda seria estritamente verdadeira se Mary tivesse seu bebê depois de se casar. Além disso, se adicionarmos a qualificação "- não necessariamente nessa ordem" à sentença original, então a implicatura é cancelada mesmo que o significado da sentença original não seja alterado. "Implicação" é uma alternativa à "implicação", que tem significados adicionais em lógica e linguagem informal.
