Macrociclo
Um macrociclo é, conforme definido pela IUPAC, "uma macromolécula cíclica ou uma porção cíclica macromolecular de uma molécula". Na literatura química, os químicos orgânicos podem considerar qualquer molécula contendo um anel de nove ou mais átomos para ser um macrociclo. Em geral, os químicos de coordenação definem um macrociclo de forma mais restrita como uma molécula cíclica com três ou mais átomos doadores potenciais que podem se coordenar em um centro de metal.
