Um cap de mob ou mob-cap é um capô de pano redondo, recolhido ou plissado, composto por um calcanhar para cobrir o cabelo, uma aba frisada ou arrumada e uma faixa de fita, usada por mulheres casadas no período georgiano, quando era chamado de "gorro". Originalmente um estilo informal, o capot tornou-se um item de alta moda como parte da adoção de roupas "country" simples no final do século 18. Era uma moda interior e estava desgastada sob um chapéu para uso ao ar livre. Durante a Revolução Francesa, o nome "Mob Cap" pegou porque as mulheres mais pobres que estavam envolvidas nos tumultos os usavam, mas tinham sido de estilo para a classe média e até a aristocracia desde o início do século. No período vitoriano, os capangas da máfia demoraram-se como a cobertura da cabeça de criados e enfermeiras, e tampas de mob pequenas, não cobrindo o cabelo, permaneceram parte desses uniformes no início do século XX. Versões modernas de tampas de moca ainda são usadas na indústria médica, em salas limpas e em outros setores onde o cabelo tem que ser contido. Essas tampas da máfia são geralmente uma forma de círculo simples com uma faixa elástica e podem ser feitas de materiais descartáveis, como polipropileno encapsulado ou de rede de nylon.
