O noumenon / nɒuːmɨnɒn / é um objeto ou evento posto que é conhecido sem o uso dos sentidos. O termo geralmente é usado em contraste com, ou em relação ao "fenômeno", que se refere a qualquer coisa que pareça, ou seja, um objeto de, os sentidos. Na filosofia platônica, o reino noumenal foi equiparado ao mundo das idéias conhecidas pela mente filosófica, em contraste com o reino fenomenal, que foi equiparado ao mundo da realidade sensorial, conhecido pela mente sem educação. Grande parte da filosofia moderna geralmente tem sido cética quanto à possibilidade de conhecimento independente dos sentidos, e Immanuel Kant deu esse ponto de vista sua versão clássica, dizendo que o mundo noumenal pode existir, mas é completamente desconhecido para os humanos.
