A média de custo do dólar é uma estratégia de investimento para reduzir o impacto da volatilidade em grandes compras de ativos financeiros, como ações. Ao dividir a soma total a ser investida no mercado em quantidades iguais colocadas no mercado em intervalos regulares, a DCA reduz o risco de sofrer uma perda substancial resultante do investimento de todo o "montante fixo" antes da queda no mercado.
