O QUE SIGNIFICA PRESELECTION EM INGLÊS
Preselecção
A pré-seleção é o processo pelo qual um candidato é selecionado, geralmente por um partido político, para contestar uma eleição para cargos políticos. Também é referido como seleção de candidatos. É uma função fundamental dos partidos políticos. Nos países que adotam o governo responsável do estilo de Westminster, a pré-seleção também é o primeiro passo no caminho para um cargo no executivo. A desaceleração é o procedimento oposto: o partido político retira o apoio de um dos seus assessores eleitos na eleição subseqüente. O partido pode então selecionar um novo candidato de substituição, ou pode decidir renunciar a contestar esse assento. O representante deseleccionado geralmente é livre para ainda contestar a eleição como um independente ou como representante de outra parte. Um exemplo de um procedimento de pré-eleição que ganha ampla cobertura da mídia é a seleção de candidatos para o presidente dos Estados Unidos, referido por um observador como "o bazar político democrático mais selvagem do mundo".
