Na física e na engenharia, o fator de qualidade ou fator Q é um parâmetro sem dimensões que descreve como um oscilador ou ressonador sub-amorteado caracteriza, ou equivalentemente, a largura de banda de um ressonante em relação à sua freqüência central. Q superior indica uma menor taxa de perda de energia em relação à energia armazenada do ressonador; As oscilações morrem mais devagar.
