Na tipografia, os maiúsculas pequenas são caracteres em maiúsculas definidos na mesma altura e peso que as letras minúsculas circundantes ou figuras de texto. Eles são usados na execução de texto para evitar que as palavras em maiúsculas apareçam muito grandes na página e como um método de ênfase ou distinção para texto ao lado ou em vez de itálico, ou quando negrito é inadequado. Por exemplo, TEXT IN CAPS aparece como texto em maiúsculas.
