Estereoscópio
Um estereoscópio é um dispositivo para visualizar um par estereoscópico de imagens separadas, representando as vistas do olho esquerdo e do olho direito da mesma cena, como uma única imagem tridimensional. Um estereoscópio típico fornece a cada olho uma lente que faz com que a imagem vista através dela pareça maior e mais distante e geralmente também desloca sua posição horizontal aparente, de modo que, para uma pessoa com percepção de profundidade binocular normal, as bordas das duas imagens aparentemente se fundem em uma "janela estéreo". Na prática atual, as imagens são preparadas para que a cena pareça estar além desta janela virtual, através da qual objetos às vezes são permitidos para protuber, mas isso nem sempre foi o costume. Um divisor ou outra característica de limitação de visão geralmente é fornecido para evitar que cada olho seja distraído ao mesmo tempo que vê a imagem destinada ao outro olho.
