Na filosofia, a superveniência é uma relação ontológica que é usada para descrever casos em que as propriedades de nível inferior de um sistema determinam suas propriedades de nível superior. Alguns filósofos afirmam que o mundo está estruturado em uma espécie de hierarquia de propriedades, onde as propriedades de nível superior se sobrepõem às propriedades de nível inferior.
