Transcriber é uma ferramenta para a transcrição e anotação de sinais de fala para pesquisas linguísticas. Ele suporta múltiplas camadas hierárquicas de segmentação, anotação de entidade nomeada, listas de falantes, listas de tópicos e alto-falantes sobrepostos. Duas visualizações da forma de onda de pressão sonora em diferentes resoluções podem ser visualizadas simultaneamente. São suportadas várias codificações de caracteres, incluindo Unicode. As anotações do Transcriber podem ser exportadas em XML. As Páginas de capa da OASIS publicam a DTD aberta usada pelo Transcriber. O Transcriber está escrito em Tcl / Tk com a biblioteca de áudio Snack e, portanto, está disponível na maioria das principais plataformas. É distribuído sob a GNU General Public License.
