Tempo Universal
O tempo universal é um padrão de tempo baseado na rotação da Terra. É uma continuação moderna do Greenwich Mean Time, ou seja, o horário solar médio no Prime Meridian em Greenwich, e GMT às vezes é usado vagamente como sinônimo de UTC. Na verdade, a expressão "Tempo Universal" é ambígua, pois existem várias versões, as mais comumente usadas sendo UTC e UT1.
