O tempo do processo de produção para o consumo das commodities / produtos é usado para significar a troca, compra e venda com outros objetos com valor econômico. A tradição é a primeira forma de tradição na história da humanidade. Com o método de troca, bens e serviços são trocados um pelo outro. Hoje em dia, a descoberta do dinheiro como meio de mudança sem dinheiro baseia-se na história humana inicial. Muitos historiadores pensam que o comércio começou por meio do intercâmbio após o nascimento da comunicação. O motivo do surgimento do comércio é o desejo de satisfazer as necessidades humanas. Devido à produção e recursos limitados, as pessoas queriam fornecer bens ou serviços que não possuíam e começaram a trocar bens por eles mesmos. Mais tarde, com o desenvolvimento da divisão de negócios e o aumento da variedade de bens comerciais, uma ferramenta comum de mudança começou a ser necessária. Assim, pão, ouro, feijão, pérolas, como bens, dinheiro e começou a ser usado como meio de troca.

Günümüzde ise artık değişim aracı olarak para kullanılmadan keşfedilmesi insanlık tarihinin erken dönemlerine dayanmaktadır. Pek çok tarihçi ticaretin, iletişimin doğuşunu takiben takas yöntemiyle başlamış olduğunu düşünmektedir. Ticaretin ortaya çıkış nedeni, insanın ihtiyaçlarını karşılama arzusudur. Üretimin ve kaynakların kısıtlı olmasından dolayı insan, kendinde olmayan mal veya hizmeti bir başkasından sağlamak istemiş, bunun için de kendinde bulunan mallar ile değiş tokuş yapmaya başlamıştır. Daha sonra iş bölümünün gelişmesi ve ticari malların çeşitlerinin artması ile, ortak bir değişim aracına ihtiyaç duyulmaya başlamıştır. Böylelikle ekmek, altın, fasulye, inci gibi mallar, para gibi bir değişim aracı olarak kullanılmaya başlamıştır.
