Appulse este un termen astronomic care se referă la cea mai apropiată apropiere a unui obiect ceresc de altul, așa cum se vede de la un al treilea corp. De obicei se referă la abordarea apropiată a două planete împreună pe cer sau a Lunii la o stea sau la o planetă pe măsură ce Luna urmează orbita lunară din jurul Pământului, așa cum o vede un observator situat pe Pământ. Un appulse este legat de o conjuncție, dar definițiile diferă în detaliu. În timp ce o aplecție are loc atunci când separarea dintre două corpuri este la minimum, o conjuncție apare în momentul în care cele două corpuri au aceeași ascensiune dreaptă sau aceeași longitudine ecliptică. În general, timpul precis al unui appulse va fi diferit de cel al unei conjuncții. În anumite cazuri, este posibil să apară un appulz, dar nu există o conjuncție. În cazul în care corpurile celeste se apropie atât de aproape încât unul trece de fapt peste celălalt, evenimentul este cunoscut ca o ocultare. Apelul este un fenomen aparent cauzat doar de perspectivă: în spațiu nu există o abordare fizică apropiată între cele două obiecte implicate, iar oamenii de știință insistă că apulzele nu au niciun efect direct asupra Pământului.
