CAPTCHA
Un test CAPTCHA este un tip de test de răspuns-răspuns utilizat în calcul pentru a determina dacă utilizatorul este sau nu uman. Termenul a fost inventat în 2000 de către Luis von Ahn, Manuel Blum, Nicholas J. Hopper de la Universitatea Carnegie Mellon și John Langford de la IBM. Cel mai comun tip de CAPTCHA a fost inventat de Mark D. Lillibridge, Martin Abadi, Krishna Bharat și Andrei Z. Broder. Această formă de CAPTCHA cere ca utilizatorul să scrie literele unei imagini distorsionate, uneori cu adăugarea unei secvențe ascunse de litere sau cifre care apare pe ecran. Deoarece testul este administrat de un calculator, spre deosebire de testul standard Turing care este administrat de un om, CAPTCHA este uneori descris ca un test Turing invers. Acest termen este ambiguu, deoarece ar putea însemna și un test Turing, în care participanții încearcă să dovedească că aceștia sunt calculatorul.
