Yoke (aeronautică)
Un jug, denumit alternativ drept coloană de control, este un dispozitiv utilizat pentru pilotarea unor avioane cu aripă fixă. Pilotul folosește jugul pentru a controla atitudinea planului, de obicei atât în pitch cât și în role. Rotirea roții de comandă controlează eleronul și axa roții. Mișcarea înainte și înapoi a coloanei de comandă controlează ascensorul și axa pitch. Când jugul este retras, nasul aeronavei se ridică. Când jugul este împins înainte, nasul este coborât. Când jugul este răsturnat, planul se rotește spre stânga și când se întoarce spre dreapta, planul se rotește spre dreapta. Aeronavele de dimensiuni medii, de obicei, limitate la propulsoare, dispun de un sistem mecanic prin care jugul este conectat direct la suprafețele de comandă cu cabluri și tije. Numai puterea musculară nu este suficientă pentru aeronave mai mari și mai puternice, deci sunt folosite sisteme hidraulice, în care mișcările jugului controlează supapele hidraulice și actuatoarele. În aeronavele mai moderne, intrările pot fi trimise mai întâi la un sistem de zbor prin fir, care apoi trimite un semnal corespunzător servomotoarelor atașate la suprafețele de comandă.
