Dalek
Daleks i / dɑːlɛks / sunt o rasă fantezistă extraterestră de mutanți, în principiu portretizată în programul britanic de televiziune science fiction Doctor Who. Dalekii au fost concepuți de scriitorul science fiction Terry Nation și au apărut pentru prima oară în 1963, Doctorul, serialul The Daleks, în cochilii proiectate de Raymond Cusick. În cadrul programului narativ, Daleks este o rasă extraterestră de cyborgs creată de omul de știință Davros în ultimii ani ai unui război de mii de ani împotriva lui Thals. El și-a modificat genetic rasa și le-a integrat cu o cochilă mecanică robotizată. Modificarea sa finală a fost aceea de a-și înlătura capacitatea de a simți milă, compasiune sau remușcare. Dalecii s-au văzut în curând ca fiind o rasă supremă în univers și au început o cucerire a dominației universale și a exterminării. Diferitele povestiri le portretizează ca având toate emoțiile înlăturate, cu excepția urii, lăsându-le cu o dorință de a curăța Universul întregii vieți non-Dalek. În mod colectiv, ei sunt cei mai mari dușmani ai protagonistului seriei, Domnul timp cunoscut sub numele de Doctor.
