Un deviator este o persoană care exprimă o abatere: o anomalie sau o plecare. În stalinism, devierea este o credință exprimată care nu este în concordanță cu doctrina oficială a partidului pentru timp și zonă. Acuzațiile de deviere a dus adesea la purge. Formele de devianism includ revizionismul, dogmatismul, naționalismul burghez și cosmopolitismul rădăcini.
