Lipopolizaharidele, cunoscute și sub denumirea de lipoglicani și endotoxină, sunt molecule mari constând dintr-o lipidă și o polizaharidă compusă din antigenul O, miezul exterior și miezul interior îmbinate printr-o legătură covalentă; ele se găsesc în membrana exterioară a bacteriilor Gram-negative și pot provoca răspunsuri imune puternice la animale. Termenul lipoligozaharidă este utilizat pentru a se referi la o formă de greutate moleculară mică a lipopolizaharidelor bacteriene.
