Freeganism
Freeganismul este practica recuperării și consumului de alimente care au fost aruncate. Freegans și freeganismul sunt adesea văzuți ca parte a unei ideologii mai "anti-consumeriste", iar liberanții folosesc adesea o serie de strategii alternative de viață bazate pe participarea limitată la economia convențională și pe consumul minim de resurse. Freegans "îmbrățișează comunitatea, generozitatea, preocuparea socială, libertatea, cooperarea și împărtășirea în opoziție cu o societate bazată pe materialism, apatie morală, concurență, conformitate și lăcomie". Freeganismul a început la mijlocul anilor '90, din mișcările antiglobalizării și ecologiste. Mișcarea are, de asemenea, elemente ale lui Diggers, un grup de teatru de stradă anarhist, cu sediul în Haight-Ashbury, în San Francisco, în anii 1960, care au distrus mâncarea salvată.
