Teoria jocurilor este un studiu de luare a deciziilor strategice. Mai exact, este "studiul modelelor matematice de conflict și cooperarea dintre factorii de decizie inteligenți inteligenți". Un termen alternativ sugerat "ca un nume mai descriptiv pentru disciplină" este teoria deciziei interactive. Teoria jocurilor este folosită în principal în economie, științe politice și psihologie, precum și logică și biologie.
