Siegfriedstellung era o poziție defensivă germană a Primului Război Mondial, construită în timpul iernii 1916-1917 pe frontul vestic, de la Arras la Laffaux, lângă Soissons pe Aisne. În 1916, ofensiva Brusilov a provocat pierderi uriașe asupra armatelor austro-ungare din Rusia și a forțat armatele est-europene să preia mai mult Frontul de Est. Declarația de război a României a adus o presiune suplimentară asupra economiei și armatei germane de război. Ofensiva germană la Verdun a fost un eșec costisitor și atacurile anglo-franceze asupra Frontului de Vest au provocat pierderi serioase armatei germane, în timpul contra-ofensivei franceze de la Verdun și al ofensivei comune asupra Sommei. Construcția Siegfriedstellung a început în septembrie 1916 și a avut ca scop contracararea unei creșteri anticipate a puterii atacurilor anglo-franceze în 1917. Poziția defensivă mai scurtă din spatele Noyon Salient a fost construită pentru a conține o descoperire aliată și a face posibilă o retragere deliberată poziții pregătite, care ar economisi și forța de muncă.
