Hipertensiune
Hipertensiunea arterială sau hipertensiunea arterială, denumită uneori hipertensiune arterială, este o afecțiune cronică în care presiunea arterială în artere este ridicată. Tensiunea arterială este rezumată prin două măsurători, sistolice și diastolice, care depind de faptul că mușchiul inimii este contractant sau relaxat între bătăi. Aceasta este egală cu presiunea maximă și, respectiv, minimă. Tensiunea arterială normală în repaus se situează în intervalul de 100-140 mmHg sistolic și diastolic de 60-90 mmHg. Tensiunea arterială crescută este prezentă dacă este adesea la sau peste 140/90 mmHg. Hipertensiunea este clasificată fie ca hipertensiune primară, fie ca hipertensiune secundară; aproximativ 90-95% din cazuri sunt clasificate ca "hipertensiune primară", ceea ce înseamnă hipertensiune arterială fără nici o cauză medicală subiacentă. Restul de 5-10% din cazuri sunt cauzate de alte afecțiuni care afectează rinichii, arterele, inima sau sistemul endocrin. Hipertensiunea provoacă tulpină asupra inimii, ducând la boală cardiacă hipertensivă și boală coronariană dacă nu este tratată.
