Kinesics
Kinesika este interpretarea comunicării prin mișcarea corporală, cum ar fi expresiile și gesturile faciale - adică comportamentul nonverbal legat de mișcarea oricărei părți a corpului sau a corpului în ansamblu. Termenul echivalent de cultură populară este limbajul corpului, un termen pe care Birdwhistell nu la folosit niciodată și nu a considerat-o adecvată. Chiar și așa, mulți oameni folosesc acest termen.
