În ortografia și tipografia, caracterele cu litere reprezintă distincția dintre literele care se găsesc în majuscule și majuscule mai mici în anumite limbi. Prima definiție a literelor mici din dicționar este cazul de tip compozitor, în care sunt păstrate literele mici. O altă definiție a literei mici se referă la scrisori mici sau în legătură cu acestea. Carcasa inferioară este de asemenea imprimată cu litere mici.
