Grupul metil
O grupare metil este un alchil derivat din metan, care conține un atom de carbon legat la trei atomi de hidrogen - CH3. Grupul este adesea abreviat pe mine. Astfel de grupări de hidrocarburi apar în mulți compuși organici. Este un grup foarte stabil în majoritatea moleculelor. În timp ce grupa metil este de obicei parte a unei molecule mai mari, ea poate fi găsită singură în oricare dintre cele trei forme: anion, cation sau radical. Anionul are opt electroni de valență, șapte radicali și șase cationi. Toate cele trei forme sunt foarte reactive și rareori observate.
