Testul obiectiv
Un test obiectiv este un test psihologic care măsoară caracteristicile individului, indiferent de părtinirea raterului sau de convingerile proprii ale examinatorului, de obicei prin administrarea unei bănci de întrebări marcate și comparate cu mecanisme exacte de notare care sunt complet standardizate, mult în același fel în care examinările sunt administrate. Testele obiective sunt adesea contraste cu testele proiective, care sunt sensibile la convingerile lui rater sau examinator. Testele proiective se bazează pe psihologia freudiană și încearcă să expună percepțiile inconștiente ale oamenilor. Testele obiective au tendința de a avea mai multă valabilitate decât testele proiective; totuși, aceștia sunt încă supuși voinței examinatului de a fi deschis față de personalitatea sa și, ca atare, uneori pot fi foarte reprezentativi pentru adevărata personalitate a subiectului. Testele proiective expun anumite aspecte ale personalității indivizilor care sunt imposibil de măsurat prin intermediul unui test obiectiv și sunt mult mai fiabile în a descoperi trăsături sau trăsături de personalitate "protejate" sau inconștiente.
