Oolite
Oolitul este o rocă sedimentară formată din ooides, boabe sferice compuse din straturi concentrice. Numele provine din cuvântul elenic òoion pentru ou. Strict, ooliții constau din oiide cu diametrul de 0,25-2 mm; pietre compuse din drojdii mai mari de 2 mm se numesc pisoliti. Termenul oolith se poate referi la oolit sau ouide individuale.
