Pointilism
Pointillism / pɔɪntɨlɪzəm / este o tehnică de pictura în care mici puncte distincte de culoare pură sunt aplicate în modele pentru a forma o imagine. Georges Seurat și Paul Signac au dezvoltat tehnica în 1886, de la impresionism. Termenul Pointilism a fost conceput pentru prima dată de criticii de artă la sfârșitul anilor 1880 pentru a ridiculiza lucrările acestor artiști și este folosit acum fără conotația sa de batjocură. Neo-impresionismul și divizionismul sunt de asemenea termeni folosiți pentru a descrie această tehnică a picturii numită pointilism.
