Un facelift, tehnic cunoscut sub numele de rhytidectomie (de la rinita greaca antica "ridura" + ectome "excizie", indepartarea chirurgicala a ridurilor), este un tip de procedura chirurgicala cosmetica utilizata pentru a da un aspect facial mai tanar. Există mai multe tehnici chirurgicale. Acesta implică, de obicei, îndepărtarea excesului de piele a feței, cu sau fără strângerea țesuturilor subiacente și redresarea pielii pe fața și gâtul pacientului. Facelift-urile sunt combinate efectiv cu chirurgia pleoapelor (blefaroplastia) si alte proceduri faciale si sunt in mod obisnuit efectuate sub anestezie generala sau somn adanc in adancime. Potrivit celor mai recente statistici din 2011 ale Societății Americane de Chirurgie Plastică Estetică, liftingul facial a fost cel de-al șaselea cel mai popular chirurgie estetică efectuată după liposucție, augmentare a sanilor, abdominoplastie (tumefiere), blefaroplastie (chirurgie pleoapelor) și lift mamar. Incizia sublabiană prin care periostemul maxilarului este ridicat într-o ridicare endoscopică la mijloc (rhytidectomy).
