Skype / skaɪp / este un serviciu freemium voice-over-IP și client de mesagerie instant, dezvoltat în prezent de divizia Microsoft Skype. Numele a fost derivat din "cer" și "peer". Skype a fost lansat pentru prima dată în august 2003.
