Emanuel Swedenborg (ascultare (info · info), născut la 29 ianuarie 1688, Emanuel Swedberg, a murit 29 martie 1772) a fost om de știință, filosof, teolog, reveler și mistic suedez. El se numește "Slujitor al Domnului Isus Hristos" în Religia creștină adevărată, o lucrare pe care a publicat-o el însuși. El este cel mai bine cunoscut pentru cartea sa despre viața de apoi, Heaven and Hell (1758). Swedenborg a avut o carieră prolifică ca inventator și om de știință. În 1741, în vârstă de 53 de ani, a intrat într-o fază spirituală în care a început să experimenteze visuri și viziuni începând cu week-endul de Paști din 6 aprilie 1744.
