Testarea limbii engleze ca limbă străină sau TOEFL / toʊfəl / TOH-fəl este un test standardizat de competență în limba engleză pentru vorbitorii de limbă străină care doresc să se înscrie în universitățile din S.U.A. Testul este acceptat de mai multe instituții academice și profesionale de limbă engleză. TOEFL este unul dintre cele două teste majore în limba engleză din lume, cealaltă fiind IELTS. TOEFL este o marcă înregistrată a ETS, o organizație privată nonprofit, care proiectează și administrează testele. Scorurile sunt valabile timp de doi ani; atunci nu mai sunt raportate.
