Теократия - это форма правления, в которой божество официально признано, что гражданский правитель и официальная политика регулируются должностными лицами, которые рассматриваются как богобоязненные или находятся в соответствии с доктриной определенной религии или религиозной группы. С точки зрения теократического правительства «сам Бог признан главой» государства, отсюда термин теократия, от греческого «Кореи» θεοκρατία «правление Бога», термин, используемый Иосифом для царств Израиля и Иудеи.
