Kitab Taurat ialah salah satu daripada empat buah kitab Islam. Kitab ini mengandungi wahyu Allah Taala kepada Nabi Musa a.s. Ia dihantarkan secara khusus untuk Bani Israel. Kitab Taurat merupakan kesinambungan kitab Nabi Allah yang terdahulu dan diikuti dengan penurunan kitab Zabur, kemudian diikuti dengan penurunan kitab Injil dan kitab suci yang terakhir iaitu Al-Quran kepada Nabi Muhammad s.a.w, sebagai penggenap kepada semua kitab-kitab suci yang sebelumnya. Dengan turunnya Al-Quran, secara tidak langsung semua ajaran kitab-kitab yang terdahulu termansuh dengan sendirinya. Al-Quran menyatakan bahawa Injil dan Taurat telah ditahrif oleh penganut-penganutnya yang menyeleweng selepas Nabi Musa wafat dan Nabi Isa diangkat ke langit. Di dalam surah al-Ma'idah, ayat 13 - 14, Allah Taala berfirman yang bermaksud: 13. "Maka dengan sebab mereka mencabuli perjanjian setia mereka, Kami laknatkan mereka, dan kami jadikan hati mereka keras membatu. Mereka sentiasa mengubah Kalimah-kalimah dari tempat-tempatnya yang sebenar, dan mereka melupakan sebahagian dari apa yang diperingatkan mereka dengannya.
