Biyodizel
Biyodizel, uzun zincirli alkil (metil, etil veya propil) esterlerinden oluşan bir bitkisel yağ veya hayvan yağına dayalı dizel yakıtı ifade eder. Biyodizel, tipik olarak, lipidlerin (örneğin, bitkisel yağ, hayvansal yağ (don yağı)) bir alkol üreten yağlı asit esterleri ile kimyasal olarak reaksiyona sokulmasıyla yapılır. Biyodizel, standart dizel motorlarda kullanılmak üzere tasarlanmıştır ve bu nedenle, dönüştürülmüş dizel motorların yakıtlandırılması için kullanılan sebze ve atık yağlardan farklıdır.
