Halife
Halife, halifelikte devlet başkanlığı ve Şeriat yönetiminde İslam ümmeti olan İslam ümmetinin yöneticisi ünvanıdır. Kelime, Arapça خليفة Halhaladan türetilmiştir. Muhammed'in 632'de ölümünden sonra, Müslüman ulusun ilk liderleri, Allah'ın elçisinin siyasal halefleri Halifat Rasul Allah çağırdı. Bazı akademisyenler terimi Khalifa olarak çevirmeyi tercih etmektedirler. Bir Calipha, bir kadın halife veya bir halife eşi veya duludur. Tarihte bir calipa'nın bir Halifeliği yönettiğini bilinen bir örnek vardı: Sitt el-Mulk, Fatimid Hilafetinin 1021'den 1023'e kadar evsahipliğini seçti.
