Chanson de geste
Chanson de geste, "kahramanca eylemlerin şarkısı" için Eski Fransız, ortaçağ anlatı, Fransız edebiyatının şafağında görünen epik bir şiir türüdür. Bu türün bilinen en eski şiirleri, kızılcıkların lirik şiirlerinin ve en eski ayet romantizmalarının ortaya çıkışından önce, on birinci on birinci ve on ikinci yüzyılın başlarından kalmış haldedir. 1150-1250 döneminde öncüllerine ulaştılar. Ayette yer alan bu hikâye şiirleri, ılımlı boyda asistanlar ya da kurnazlar tarafından eskiden okundu ya da okundu. 12. yüzyıldan 15. yüzyıla kadar uzanan yaklaşık 300 eserde yüz kadar chansons de geste hayatta kaldı.
