Damper, çoğunlukla şantiye alanlarında, dökme malzeme taşımak üzere tasarlanmış bir araçtır. Damperler yapılandırmayla döküm kamyonlarından ayırt edilirler: Damper genellikle sürücünün önüne yük atlama özelliğine sahip açık 4 tekerlekli bir araçtır, bir damperli kamyon ise kabinin yükün önüne yerleştirilir. Atlama, yükü boşaltmak için ipucu verebilir; "Damper" isminin geldiği yer burasıdır. Normal olarak dizel motorludurlar. Çekme halkası, site traktörü olarak ikincil kullanım için monte edilmiştir. Lastik izlere sahip damperler özel durumlarda kullanılır ve bazı ülkelerde popülerdir. Erken damperler yaklaşık bir tonluk yük kapasitesine sahipti ve ön aksı kullanan 2 teker çekişli ve arka tekerlekleri yönlendiriyordu. Tek silindirli dizel motor elle marşla çalıştırıldı. Direksiyon ön tekerlek değil arka tekerlekleri çevirdi. Ne elektrik ne de hidrolik olmamıştı, yanlış gidilecek pek bir şey yoktu. Atlama, sürücünün ayakları tarafından bir mandala bağlandı. Tutma yeri serbest bırakıldığında, atlama ipuçları içeriğinin ağırlığının altındaki mil noktalarından boşaltılır ve elle kaldırılır. Modern damperlerin yük kapasitesi 10 tona kadar varır ve genellikle şasinin ortasında eklemlenerek yönlendirilir.
