Kahraman
Bir kahraman ya da kahraman, tehlike ve olumsuzluk karşısında ya da zayıflık karşısında cesaret ve özveri, yani kahramanlık için tüm insanlığın daha büyük iyiliği için gösterdiği karakterleri ifade eder. Bu tanım başlangıçta dövüşçü cesaret veya mükemmellikten bahsetmekle birlikte daha genel ahlaki mükemmelliğe uzanır. Kahramanlık hikayeleri manevi örnekler görebilir. Klasik antik dönemde, Herakles, Perseus ve Achilles gibi kutsal sayılan kahramanlara tapan kültler, Eski Yunan dininde önemli bir rol oynadı. Eski ve modern politikacılar kendi kahramanlığı için kahramanlık ibadet istihdam ettiler. Anti-kahramanların hikayeleri Yunan mitolojisinde ve literatürde çok önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Anti kahraman, belirli durumlarda bir kişinin beklediği son nitelikte bir kahramandır; bir anti-kahraman, genellikle, kahramanlığın tipik özelliklerinden, şeref, soyluluk, cesaret, merhamet ve güçsüzlükten yoksundur. En sevdiği anti-kahraman türü, karaktersiz bir kişidir.
