Tire
Tire, kelimelere katılmak ve tek kelimenin hecelerini ayırmak için kullanılan bir noktalama işaretidir. Tire kullanıldığında tireleme denir. Tire daha uzun olan ve farklı kullanımlara sahip çizgilerle veya daha da uzun olan eksi işaretiyle karıştırılmamalıdır. Bir ortografik kavram açısından, tire bir tek varlıktır. Karakter kodlaması ve gösterimi açısından, bu varlık, kullanım bağlamına bağlı olarak birkaç karakterden ve gliflerden herhangi biri ile temsil edilir.
