Retina makula
Makula veya makula lutea, insan gözünün retinasının merkezine yakın oval şekilli yüksek pigmentli sarı bir noktadır. Yaklaşık 6 mm çapında bir histolojiye sahiptir ve genellikle histolojik olarak iki veya daha fazla gangliyon hücresi katmanı olarak tanımlanır. Merkezinin yakınında fovea, gözdeki en büyük koni hücresi konsantrasyonunu içeren ve merkezi, yüksek çözünürlüklü görüşten sorumlu olan küçük bir çukur bulunur. Makula ayrıca parafovea ve perifoveayı da içerir.
