Marsilea, Marsileaceae ailesinin yaklaşık 65 tür su bitkisi cinsidir. Bu isim, İtalyan doğalcı Luigi Ferdinando Marsigli'yi onurlandırıyor. Bu küçük bitkiler alışılmadık bir görünümdedir ve ortak ısırganlara benzemezler. Yaygın isimler arasında su yulaması ve dört yapraklı yonca bulunur, çünkü uzun saplı yapraklar dört yonca benzeri lob içerir ve ya suyun üstünde tutulur ya da batırılır. Bazı Avustralya türlerinin sporokarpları, kuru koşullarda 100 yıla kadar varan kuraklığa dayanıklıdırlar. Islatma üzerine, sporokarpın jelatinimsi iç kısmı şişer, bölünür ve sori taşıyan ve sonunda sporların çimlenmesine ve gübrelemeye neden olan bir solucan benzeri kitle bırakır.
