Odonata, yusufçuk ve kurt damızlıklarını kapsayan etçil böceklerden oluşan bir emirdir. Yusufçuk kelimesi bazen tüm Odonata'yı belirtmek için kullanılır, ancak odonat grup için bir bütün olarak daha doğru bir İngilizce adıdır. Odonata meraklıları, yalnızca Anisoptera'ya atfen, gerçek yusufçuk kelimesi veya Anisopteran terimini kullanarak belirsizlikten kaçınırlar. Warriorfly terimi de önerildi. Bu sırada yaklaşık 5.900 tür açıklanmıştır.
