Bir postscript, bir mektubun veya başka bir yazı grubunun ana gövdesinden sonra yazılan eklentidir. Bu terim Latince yayın sonrası, "sonradan yazılmış" anlamına gelen bir ifade ile gelir. Bir mektubun veya bir makale veya kitabın ana organının imzalanmasından sonra, çoğunlukla aceleyle veya tesadüfen bir cümle, paragraf ya da ara sıra birçok paragraf eklenebilir.
