PREFACE SÖZCÜĞÜ İNGILIZCE DİLİNDE NE ANLAMA GELİR?
önsöz
Bir önsöz veya proem, eserin yazarı tarafından yazılan bir kitaba veya diğer edebi esere bir giriş niteliğindedir. Farklı bir kişi tarafından yazılan bir giriş kompozisyonu bir önsöztür ve bir yazarın önsözünden önce gelir. Önsöz, edebi esere yardım edenlerin onayları ile kapanır. Bir önsöz, genellikle kitabın nasıl oluştuğu ya da kitap fikrinin nasıl geliştirildiğinin öyküsünü kapsar; bunu yazım sırasında yazara yardımcı olan kişilere teşekkür ve bildirimler izler. Bir önsöz genellikle imzalanır; başka birinin önsözü daima imzalanır. Ana metin için gerekli olan bilgiler genelde açıklayıcı notlara veya belki de önsöz yerine Arap rakamları ile sayfalanmış olabilecek bir "Giriş" e yerleştirilir.
