Piröris, gösterişli çiçek başlıkları için süs bitkileri olarak yetiştirilen Krysanthemum veya Tanacetum olarak sınıflandırılan birkaç Eski Dünya bitkisinin bir cinsiydi. Pyrethrum, eskiden Pyrethrum cinsine dahil olan bitkiler için ortak bir isim olarak kullanılmaya devam etmektedir. Pyrethrum ayrıca, Krizantem cinerariifolium ve Chrysanthemum coccineum'un kurutulmuş çiçek başlarından yapılan doğal bir böcek öldürücünün adıdır.
