Scriptorium, kelimenin tam anlamıyla "yazım için bir yer" olarak yazılmış ve manastırların manastır yazı işleri tarafından yazılması, kopyalanması ve aydınlatılması ile ilgilenen ortaçağ Avrupa manastırlarındaki bir odaya atıf yapmak için yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır.
